Between the Industrial Lathe and the Spiking Neural Network.

srgpp is the multidisciplinary artistic identity of Sergiu Popa—composer, tactile sculptor, painter, and doctoral researcher in Systems Engineering.

Rooted in a dark, austere sensibility where the decayed industrial minimalism of Corroded Nostalgia meets the sharp architectural precision of high-fashion silhouettes, the project treats every medium as an exercise in material resistance. What began with moulding raw clay and ritual incense vessels expanded organically into heavy-impasto painting, avant-garde garment construction, SFX prosthetic distortion, and long-form dark ambient/industrial composition.

In parallel with his artistic output, Popa conducts doctoral research in Systems Engineering at Universitatea Petrol-Gaze din Ploiești, investigating lightweight Spiking Neural Networks (SNNs) and adaptive control architectures for autonomous aerial vehicles, while teaching university engineering laboratories.
